Happy Mother's Day

I have not posted in while due to working like a mad woman for my daughter and then a flair up with my trigeminal neuralgia. I much prefer the working like a mad woman any day!
I decided to make this an easy blog about all the beautiful flowers in my life right now...not a lot, but flowers always make me so happy, whether from a florist or in my garden.
My lovely daughter, Adrienne, sent me this gorgeous arrangement of roses and white lillies for Mother's Day. They came on a day that I was in severe pain in bed. Truly turned a very dark day into a ray of sunshine. The roses are the most gorgeous shade of coral and as they open, you can see all the different shades...sigh! Did I mention the delicious scent? OMG! And add the lillies to that, ooo, la, laaaaa!!

The peony was transplanted from my deceased mother-in-laws garden a few years back. She had so many that I wish I had dug up more. The house is now sold and don't think the new owners would appreciate me showing up with shovel in hand. The first year, no blooms. Last year, only one. This year 2 blooms. I just about did a back flip!

The Allium bulbs I planted last year and I LOVE these and shortly after blooming the wind came along, so they didn't last as long as I had hoped, but I still have a few that haven't bloomed.

I threw a bunch of seeds out in one of my gardens last year just to see what would happen. The yellow flowers are from that. Darn if I can remember what they are. I have daisies, tall flox, and cosmos about to bloom, too. Something exciting about seeing a flower bloom from seed, if you have the patience.

These are the tall flox, in 4 shades of pink...sigh.

I have to show you my pyracantha bush all full of tiny white flowers. So pretty in the Spring and then the red berries in the fall. Just watch out for those nasty thorns.

The wind has blown them into Mr. Toad's space and he doesn't look too happy about it. I have cleaned this out numerous times, so the birds can drink to their content.

.

.I would be remiss if I didn't show the Cherry's on the tree out back and their beautiful blush. Last year the birds ate them all in about a day. The year before, we had a bounty

Oh, and last, but not least...My adorable husband just came home with this bunch of delightful flowers for me...awwwwwwwwww...he is so sweet! He also brought me a hanging flower pot for the patio. I love you, hon!<

I wish all you moms the most Wonderful of Mother's Days! Make the day you're own, because you deserve it!!!
