This bloggin is new to me, but I'm all about a new adventure. Jer, my hubbie, Scooter, my son, and I moved to OK a little over a year ago. We came from beautiful Flagstaff, AZ in the tall pines at 7000ft! Jer has family here, including his 94 year old father, who we put in an assist living home a few months ago. Anyway, the move was exciting to me in the beginning. I was ready for a change or so I thought.
Things didn't progress as we had hoped when we first got here. Jer took a job with Metlife and the start date was delayed a few months. We lived in a small guest house on his sister's property and ended up staying there for 9 months. I thought I was going to lose my mind at times, but we finally got our own place.
Lately, I've been feeling a bit homesick. All of my family is in AZ and my daughter, Kira, is in Salt Lake City, UT. I miss her so much! It feels like I've moved to the other side of the planet! I did get to spend 3 weeks with her in April. Unfortunately, my husband's brother-in-law suddenly passed away and we all met in CO for his service. It was a sad reason to gather our family, but we sure enjoyed seeing everyone.
I have been a crafter most of my life. My grandmother was a quilter and my mother a seamstress. Guess you could say it's in my blood! I have 5 siblings, all of which are talented in their own right. I've always loved making dolls, quilts, and have dabbled in tole painting. Recently, I discovered altered art and LOVE it! I took 2 classes at a local paper artistry store and I just can't get enough. I've never been able to draw, so look forward to taking a class on the Altered Diva website. I'm expanding my horizon!
I guess I'd better expand my horizon into the kitchen and round up some grub. It's a chilly 54 degrees out and Jer is freezing and wanting to get the fireplace going. I'm quite comfortable thanks to my "mentalpause!"
